Cerebral Arteriogram
The cerebral arteriogram is a study that
evaluates the arteries of the neck which supply blood to the brain, and
evaluates the arteries within the brain itself.
Following is a brief listing of conditions
that are commonly diagnosed by cerebral angiography.
-
Carotid Artery Stenosis
A blockage in the arteries in the neck
which supply blood to the brain. This is the major cause of stroke.
-
Subarachnoid Hemorrhage
Bleeding into the space around
the brain. This condition is most often caused by a ruptured aneurysm (an
abnormal weakening of the wall of the artery).
